JT Double B Ranch Horse Rental & Open Play Rules:

• Only experienced riders may sign up for open play or horse rentals. You must know how to ride appropriately, which includes knowing what to do in case of a spook, bolt, buck, rear or accident.
• Under no circumstances will anyone be giving another rider lessons, unless you have worked out an agreement with us.
• Anyone aged 17 years old and younger must wear a helmet, no exceptions. We do our best to provide as safe of horses as we possibly can. However, horses are and will always be unpredictable. Safety is a priority at our facility, so we do highly encourage all people riding to wear a helmet, however, anyone over 17 may waive your right to wear one. You may provide your own certified horse-riding helmet. If not, we will provide one.
• We have a 225 pound weight limit for most of our horses. We have a couple of horses that will carry a heavier person, up to 275 pounds. Due to this, you will be provided with a list of horses to choose from based on your size. You must only choose from this list.
• For the safety of you and our horses, under no circumstances are horses to be traded without prior consent.
• We also offer boarding to the public. Because of this, we have many horses that do not belong to us. For this reason, please do not feed horses without permission. Horses may bite or kick, therefore you must use caution when petting horses.
• There is no sharing of horses. The only exception is if you have paid the additional $25 share fee, and the shared person doesn’t exceed the weight limit for that particular horse.
• You will be assigned a tack up area. Do not move your horse to another location without prior consent.
• All tack will be provided and assigned to your horse. Please do not change out tack without prior consent. You may only use your own tack if it fits that horse and has been approved.
• Under no circumstances do we allow anyone on the horse while tacking up or in the barn.
• Once you are tacked up completely, you will bring your horse to the arena or round pen (whichever is assigned to you) where you may at that time, mount your horse using the mounting block. For the safety of you and the horse, at this time we will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to evaluate your riding before heading out on your own.
• We want each one of you to have a wonderful time at our facility. But safety is our number one concern. No loping or trotting towards another horse. You must at all times stay at least 50 feet away from another rider or person walking that is not in your group. And always be cautious of all riders.
• Please be courteous and kind to everyone at our facility. If a staff member asks you to do anything differently, please abide.
• At the end of your ride, remove all tack and place it back in the correct spot. If your horse is sweaty, please take him to the shower station and rinse him off using the provided sweat scraper then scrape the excess water off. Once finished, please take the horse back to where you got him.
• We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. If at any time during your visit you become unruly, not listening, not abiding by our rules, we have the right to ask you to leave.
