Snack Daddy
Snack Daddy
Shetland Appy pony 12.2-3 hands tall
12-15 years old
Snack daddy has been one of our lesson ponies now for several months. He is the sweetest boy ever! Snack daddy can be shy at times, but once he gets to know you, you’re golden and like butter in his hands. Snack daddy is very motivated and very intelligent. He is very broke and will neck rein . We have put beginners through advanced riders on him and he does fine. However, he did have surgery a couple months ago due to cancer on his sheath. He had a full sheath removal. Therefore, he has no sheath and has an area that the vet made new under his tail where he urinates from. it does not bother him, but it does get on his legs. The vet said until his muscle memory kicks in (that could take a little time )and realizes that is where he is now urinating that , that will happen. He was turned out for around six weeks after surgery or recovery and since we have put him back in service, he has been wanting to go to the gate with beginners on him. So he will either need a handy kid to keep him from doing what he wants or he is very well suitable for a advanced beginner and up. Just as long as that kid knows how to not let him get his way then he’s perfect.
Due to his surgery and removal, he is cheap. This is an amazing pony, but unfortunately Most of our kids have never been on horses so they do not know how to correct him when he needs it.
Snack daddy has many many miles on trails and he is not spooky. You can pony him on another horse, he’ll ride out alone, lead lines and would probably make a good little payday pony with some pushing . Snack daddy has never offered to buck, rear, bolt, bite or do anything dangerous
